Oct 16 2010 · Run the boiler let it get up to high limit (crank the thermostat). Check pressure it should be around say 20 PSI... then shut it off let it get stone cold again.
However while being serviced the plumber noted my boiler had been burning hot (temp was set to 190 degrees). He reset to 180 degrees which appears to be the normal residential setting. All has been good with the psi and heating so far. However I have an air handler/blower in my attic which blows the hot air heat to the second level of my house.
